Importing Audio Files

Even though Phonexia offers several diverse speech technologies within the web application, they all share nearly identical options for importing audio files for further processing.

The uploading pane always offers three sources of audio files:

  1. Uploading files from the user's device
  2. Recording a voice
  3. Using Phonexia examples
note

The processing limit for recordings depends on the server configuration. The default values are 5MB per recording and a maximum of 100 files.

Before processing begins, all audio files are stored in the browser's IndexedDB. From there, they are sent to the requested microservice for processing. Once processing is complete, you can view the results and the files are removed from the server. The recordings remain available in the browser until you remove them from the working pane.

caution

The browser may occasionally remove audio files from the working pane, particularly if the web application has been inactive for an extended period.

1. Uploading files from user's device

Upload button

With the upload option, you can easily add audio files from your device.

Drag and drop

You can either select folders or drag and drop files into the designated area. Furthermore, once the drag and drop window is open, you can repeat the action as needed, and you will always be informed about the total number of files being dropped.

Both ways are shown in the video below.

2. Recording a voice

You can choose this option if you want to work with your own voice or speech or with those of the people close to the device. If the maximum limit for the recording has been reached, the recording will be stopped automatically. The limit for recording length is configurable, but the default maximum duration is 5 minutes.

3. Using Phonexia examples

If users do not have their own files, Phonexia provides pre-made audio files, enabling them to effectively test the technology and grasp the expected results by working with these samples firsthand.

Adding more files

Audio files can be added at any stage: either initially within the upload pane, as demonstrated in previous videos, or later on. When the pane already contains files, new ones can be uploaded using the "add" button or by simply dragging and dropping them into the pane.
